This policy explains how Brightspire (ABN 11 702 842 113) collects, uses, and protects personal information on this site. We follow the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect and why
When you contact us, through the enquiry form, by email, or in conversation about a project, we collect:
- Your name, email, and phone number if you give it
- Your business or studio name, if relevant
- Details about your project, website, or hosting needs
If you use the enquiry form, we also store your IP address, browser user-agent, and timestamps for spam protection and record-keeping.
We don’t collect sensitive information (in the Privacy Act sense) and have no reason to.
We use the information you give us to:
- Respond to enquiries and follow up on conversations
- Quote, plan, and carry out work
- Send invoices and account communications
- Keep records the law requires us to keep (some for at least 7 years)
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for marketing without your consent.
How this site works
The contact form
Nothing you type into the form is saved or sent until you press Send. When you do, your submission is stored securely and emailed to us, and we email you a short confirmation so you know it arrived. We keep submissions as a record of our conversations. Ask us and we’ll delete yours, unless the law requires us to keep it.
The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to keep out spam. It may set a temporary cookie while it checks, and it doesn’t track you across sites. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details.
Free checks
Some pages offer a free check on a domain. These run in your browser. The domain you type is looked up through public services: Cloudflare’s public DNS, an IP-to-network lookup, and the domain registries’ public records. The results aren’t stored and aren’t sent to us unless you choose to attach them to an enquiry.
Analytics and cookies
This site uses two measurement tools to understand how it’s used: pages visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what devices they’re on.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-first: it doesn’t set cookies, doesn’t fingerprint your browser, and doesn’t track you across sites. It records page views and performance data only.
Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data on Google’s servers, which may be outside Australia. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
We may add other measurement tools over time, such as an advertising pixel. If a tool collects personal information, this policy covers it and we’ll update this page.
Beyond that, this site stores two things in your browser: your light or dark mode choice, and the latest hosting status for a few minutes so it isn’t re-checked on every page. Both stay on your device.
Where data lives
This site and its enquiry records are hosted with Cloudflare, and our email is with Google. Cloudflare and Google are overseas companies, and data held with them may be stored and processed outside Australia.
Sharing, your rights, and contact
We don’t share your personal information with anyone, except:
- The service providers that run and measure this site and our email (Cloudflare and Google), as described above
- Where the law requires it, such as a subpoena or court order
Under the Privacy Act, you can ask us:
- What we hold about you (we’ll answer within 30 days)
- To correct it
- To delete it, where we’re not legally required to keep it
- To withdraw any consent you’ve given
Email chris@brightspire.com.au for any of these, or anything else privacy-related. If you have a complaint and aren’t satisfied with how we handle it, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
If this policy changes, the updated date at the top of this page changes with it.
